Matt Wheeler - A third generation Quilter

Matt got the quilting bug from his mother, Sandra Jones, who got it from her Mother, Viola Shull. Quilting since he was 20, Matt moved from basic traditional quilting to his current passion for Modern Quilts and Design. While living in Hawaii, Matt also enthusiastically picked up the art of Hawaiian Needle Turn Appliqué and Hawaiian Quilting.

Purchasing the local quilt store in his area, The Quilted Bear, Matt took his love of quilting to a whole new level, learning new techniques and teaching classes. Having since sold the store, Matt now enjoys quilting for his own enjoyment, entering his quilts into local and international shows and competitions, and teaching classes at local guilds and quilt shops.
